Neuromuscular Massage Therapy

Neuromuscular Massage Therapy is a precise, scientific method of manual therapy applied to the musculoskeletal system to address chronic physical pain and injury.

Use of moist heat, Swedish massage and analgesic liniments prepare the tissue for treatment.  Applied pressure using thumbs, hands, elbows and therapy tools further assist in locating and normalizing myofascial dysfunctions, spasms, fibrotic adhesiona nd trigger points (a sensitive, localized area which refers pain to a distal area; such as pressure applied to a trigger point located in the shoulder can be felt radiating down the arm to the hand).

Relief is usually felt after first treatment though subsequent treatments may be necessary to address chronic and cumulative conditions.

Your comfort is always a priority.  Continued feedback is encourages to insure appropriate location and pressure is used for maximum results.  Healthy tissue does not elicit pain, therefore, discomfort is a guideline to locating and treating muscle spasms, trigger points, fibrotic adhesions and cellular toxins.

After treatment, care is necessary on your part to offset therapeutic response as adhesions and metabolic byproducts are released from fibrotically adhered tissues.  Rest, therapeutic baths and rehydration (drink plenty of water) will accelerate normalization of tissue and muscle function.

After treatment you may feel:
  • Soreness, like a workout (as fibrotic adhesions and nerve entrapment normalize)
  • Fatigue or weariness (as the entire physiology self-corrects)
These are temporary and if experienced, will usually normalize within 48 hours.

Emotional release or mood swings may surface as past trauma is released from the nervous system allowing clearing on this level.

Benefits of Neuromuscular Massage Therapy include pain relief, increased flexibility, increased blood circulation, improved strength and muscle tone.

These methods have been found to be beneficial in many cases of headaches, whiplash injuries, neck, back and sciatic pain, tingling and numbness , shoulder, arm and hand pain, leg, knee and foot pain, joint restrictions, repetitive motion symptoms and auto injuries.  Success has been achieved in post-surgical recovery and found to be a beneficial adjunct to physical therapy.

An hour and a half session is recommended to receive full benefits of a thorough treatment. Cost$112

NOTE:  Most Insurance Carriers cover this treatment.  You will be given a "Super-bill" to send in your insurance claim.
